Eyes on Hanna
BAHAMAS (09/01/08) --

While Hurricane Gustav pounds the Gulf Coast from Texas to Florida, all eyes from the southeast coastline should be on Hurricane Hanna. Current models show her lumbering through the Bahamas until Wednesday morning. But then, her forward movement is expected to accelerate dramatically and she could make landfall as early as Friday morning. This quick acceleration in travel speed may take many by surprise.

Mariners are urged to start preparing their vessels early. Remember that once coastal warnings go up, there may not be enough time left to move and/or ready your vessel. Traffic will be heavy, draw bridges may not open, and interstates may be one-way for evacuation. You will also need time to get yourself and your family out of the area if necessary.
