Diesel Engine Workshop
STUART, FL (01/21/09) --

Atlantic Boat and Marine's Captain Michael Sutton completed Bob Smith's two-day, hands-on, diesel engine workshop in Stuart, Florida. Bob is one of the original developers of the very successful line of Lehman Ford diesel engines. He also founded American Diesel Corp in Kilmarnock, VA (www.americandieselcorp.com).

Bob brought a complete engine for the class. In addition to theory, students had the opportunity to remove the injector pump, injectors, and rocker assembly, torque the cylinder head, adjust the valves, then reassemble and bleed the system. They then ran the engine they had just worked on and spent more time on troubleshooting, repairs, and regular maintenance procedures.

The diesel workshop class is great for owners and operators who want to develop a better understanding of the marine diesel. Bob's workshop not only offers the knowledge and practice to help keep your diesel running, it is laid back, non-structured, and a lot of fun.

Bob presented his hands-on class during "PassageMaker University", a series of marine related courses organized by the good folks from PassageMaker magazine. In addition to the diesel workshop, PassageMaker offers many other courses including boat design, boat handling, seamanship, navigation, medical procedures, and weather.
